General Pulmonology

Pulmonary medicine focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and management of conditions that affect the respiratory system. We care for patients with a broad spectrum of conditions including COPD/emphysema, asthma, interstitial lung disease and blood clots within the lungs (pulmonary embolism), to name a few.

We offer comprehensive care for our patients and offer pulmonary function testing and an exercise program for patients with chronic lung disease within our clinic. In addition, we are actively engaged in lung cancer screening and with our experienced interventional pulmonology program can offer cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques if a procedure is needed.

The centers for Medicaid and Medicare services recently decided that there was sufficient evidence to provide lung cancer screening with low dose ct scans, for certain patients.  If you have had a positive lung cancer screening ct scan, our experienced team can provide recommendations regarding the next step in your care and help expedite this process.

If you are a patient who meets the following criteria, you may be eligible for lung cancer screening with yearly low dose CT scans:

  • Age 55-77 years
  • Currently smoking or quit smoking within the past 15 years
  • History of at least 30 pack years of tobacco smoking (one pack-year = smoking one pack per day for one year)
